Ann Leckie (born 1966 in Toledo, Ohio) is an American science fiction and fantasy author. Before writing her first novel, she published several short stories in American fantasy and science fiction magazines. Her debut novel, *Ancillary Justice* (*Die Maschinen*), won the Hugo Award. Her science fiction novels have also received the Nebula Award, the British Fantasy Award, and the Locus Award. *The Raven Tower* (*Der Rabengott*) was her first high fantasy novel and was also shortlisted for the Hugo Award.
