Ann Granger (1939–2025) was a British crime novelist. Before becoming a writer, she worked in the diplomatic service. She was best known for the Mitchell and Markby series and the Fran Varady novels, and also wrote the Jessica Campbell series and historical crime novels featuring Lizzie Martin and Benjamin Ross. In 1999, she was elected to the prestigious Detection Club. Granger’s novels were translated into ten languages. She had two sons.
