Angie Thomas

Angie Thomas grew up in Jackson, Mississippi. As a teenager, she performed as a rapper and later earned a bachelor’s degree in creative writing from Belhaven University. Her award-winning debut novel, “The Hate U Give,” reached number one on the New York Times bestseller list. Her novels “On the Come Up” and “Concrete Rose” also topped the list. “The Hate U Give” received the German Youth Literature Prize in 2018 and was adapted into a film.
