Angelo Tijssens, born in 1986 in Blankenberge, Belgium, became known as a screenwriter. Together with director Lukas Dhont, he wrote the screenplays for the films “Girl” and “Close.” In 2019, both received several international honors for “Girl” and were awarded the Caméra d’Or. “Close” was nominated for the Academy Award and the European Film Award in 2023 and won, among other distinctions, the Grand Jury Prize at Cannes. Tijssens made his acclaimed novelistic debut with “An Rändern,” which was translated into English, French, and Spanish.
