Andreas Rauscher

Andreas Rauscher (born 1973) is a German media and film scholar. He received his doctorate from the University of Mainz in 2001 with a study of the phenomenon of Star Trek and completed his habilitation there in 2011 with a work on genre concepts in video games. His research has focused on film history and science fiction. As an editor, he contributed to books on subjects including The Simpsons, Star Trek, comic-book heroes, and James Bond. He also worked as a freelance journalist and as a scholarly curator for the Frankfurt Film Museum.
