Andrea Winkler was born in Freistadt in 1972 and studied German and theatre studies. She writes prose and essays; her literature, which moves between narrative and reflection, has received several awards, including the Abraham Woursell Award and the Advancement Award of the Republic of Austria. Her publications include “Arme Närrchen” (2006), “Hanna und ich” (2008), “Drei, vier Töne, nicht mehr” (2010), “König, Hofnarr und Volk” (2013), “Ich weiß, wo ich bin.” (2013), “Die Frau auf meiner Schulter” (2018), and “Mitten im Tag”.
