Andrea Stoll, Dr. phil., was born near Frankfurt am Main in 1960. She studied German literature, philosophy and journalism in Vienna and Mainz and completed a doctorate on Ingeborg Bachmann. From 1992 to 2007, she taught German-language literature and screenwriting at the University of Salzburg. As an author and dramaturge, she published books and essays, particularly on Bachmann, and wrote screenplays for film and television. She initiated and co-edited the correspondence between Ingeborg Bachmann and Paul Celan, Herzzeit, which was published in more than ten languages. She received the German Television Award in 2017 and 2019 for the screenplays of Familienfest and Aufbruch in die Freiheit.
