Alexander Klar

Alexander Klar, born in Waiblingen in 1968, is a German art historian with a doctorate. After working at museums in New York, Venice, Emden, London and Hagen, he became director of Museum Wiesbaden in 2011 and took over as director of the Hamburger Kunsthalle in 2019. His publications include Neue Freiheit: Abstraktion nach 1945 (2010), Rui Inácio: True Images (2010) and Albert Oehlen: Die 5000 Finger von Dr. Ö (2014). He has also edited numerous exhibition catalogues.
