Alex Bellos

Alex Bellos (born 1970) studied mathematics and philosophy at the University of Oxford. He subsequently worked as a journalist for the Guardian in London and Rio de Janeiro. He is known in particular for »Alex’s Adventures in Numberland«, which became a bestseller in the United Kingdom and was nominated for the Samuel Johnson Prize. He also wrote »Futebol: The Brazilian Way of Life« and, as a ghostwriter, Pelé’s autobiography »My Life« (2006). His particular interests include mathematics, Brazil and football.
