Alan Lee

Alan Lee was born in 1947 in Middlesex, England, and studied at the Ealing School of Art. In the 1980s, he established himself as an illustrator of J. R. R. Tolkien’s works and became particularly known for his depictions of Middle-earth. He received an Academy Award in 2004 for his designs for the film adaptation of »The Lord of the Rings«.
