Akimi Yoshida

Akimi Yoshida was born in Tokyo on August 12. She made her manga debut in 1977 with “Chotto Fushigi na Geshukunin,” published in Bessatsu Shōjo Comic. Her notable works include “Kisshō Tennyo,” “Yasha,” and “Umimachi Diary.” She received the 29th Shogakukan Manga Award for “Kisshō Tennyo” and another series, the 47th for “Yasha,” and the 61st for “Umimachi Diary.” In 2013, “Umimachi Diary” also received the Manga Taishō Award. Yoshida published regularly in the monthly magazine Flowers until 2018.
