Afonso Reis Cabral

Afonso Reis Cabral was born in Portugal in 1990 and studied Portuguese and fiction writing. He published his first volume of poetry at the age of 15. His debut novel, “O Meu Irmão” (“My Brother”), won the Prémio LeYa in 2014. His second novel, “Aber wir lieben dich,” was published in 2021; for it, he received the Prémio José Saramago in 2019, one of Portugal’s most important literary prizes.
