Adam Hochschild

Adam Hochschild was born in New York City in 1942. He worked as an author and journalist and taught at the Graduate School of Journalism at the University of California, Berkeley. His writing appeared in publications including The New Yorker, Harper’s Magazine, The New York Review of Books, The New York Times Magazine, and Mother Jones. His books have been translated into five languages and received several awards, including honors from the World Affairs Council and the Society of American Travel Writers. King Leopold’s Ghost received the 1998 California Book Award Gold Medal for nonfiction.
