Rezension von EllemirWas tut man als Ärztin, wenn eine Freundin mit ihrem Kleinkind in die Notaufnahme kommt und die Verletzungen darauf hindeuten, dass das Kind möglicherweise misshandelt wird? Zieht man Polizei und Behörden hinzu, auch wenn man der Meinung ist, für die Freundin die Hand ins Feuer legen zu können? Welche Auswirkungen hat das auf den Freundeskreis? Interessante, wenn auch nicht unbedingt angenehme Ausgangslage für ein Buch - aber mit der Ausführung war ich äußerst unzufrieden. Die Figuren blieben relativ eindimensional, das Buch wirkte mit den Geschichten aus der Vergangenheit einzelner Figuren überfrachtet und das Ende (was ich hier jetzt nicht verraten will, falls noch jemand das Buch lesen will) hat zumindest für mich gar nicht funktioniert.
Rezension von Danielle BergThere was a lot of underlying important topics that aren't spoken up about enough, and for that I appreciate this book. But, I did feel this book dragged on for me. Maybe I wasn't in the right headspace to read this one, but it took me way longer to read than usual and I just wanted it to end. At about 65% I was hoping I was much further along, and from then just itching for it to end. Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for the opportunity to read this arc and provide my honest opinion.
