Rezension von FerenMy favourite story of all time. Read it when it first "came out" as a fan translation and still love it to this day. Beautifully told story about revenge and doing the right thing.

I love the playful banter and teasing of Wei Wuxian, I love the mysteriousness and how loyal Lan Wangji(definitely not the love interest hust hust) is. Their dynamic is just so perfect, and this is just the first book. Without mentioning the other complicated relationship Wei Wuxian has with the other characters. I am obsessed with the mystery and the details in this world. You always get to know more pieces of the story of what happend, and it is such a careful created sections where we get to know the characters now and in the past. If I didn't make it clear enough, if you like mysteries, bickering, some tragic element and of course a little romance sprayed on top, this is your sign to give this one a read!
Rezension von IzzyI’m not lying when I say, this might be the best book series you’ll ever read. The plot is insanely good, the perfect amount of flashbacks and time jumps, so the tension is always there. It’s a good start to get into danmeis but be aware, you’ll struggle with names at first. I’ve read the series 3 times now. Twice in German and once in English and it’s my favorite ever. You’ll get a love story between Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji, that makes you think “yeah I can see why they fell for each other” because they’re both so perfect. Their personalities throughout the books will get so clear, that you know exactly how and why they act the way they do. And love story aside- the story line in general is just so good. Everything is connected towards the end and makes sense and it’s so well thought through. I’ll always gladly recommend this book series to everyone, who likes a good plot with twists and turns, who likes a funny and smart main character.
