My first Goosebumps book! I really love spooky novels about ghosts and monsters, so I am really happy to find these nice books. Don’t read them if you want some sophisticated book, it is not your book then! True that it is pourly written, and really short, but it could make me feel excited, and that is all what I am looking for a book like this. The Plot: A family inherit a big old house in a little village from an unkown uncle... The parents are really happy, it is a nice opportunity to get away from the city, and have some quiet. But the girl, Amanda, and the boy, Josh really don’t want to loose their friends and move, they don’t like the change and have some really bad feelings about the moving. When they arrive their dog, Petey starts to behave really oddly, and runs away to the cemetary and Amanda sees a boy in the window of her room. Funny things are happening, they meet the children of the town, and they are also really weird. One night the neighbours invite their parents for a party, and the same night Petey get away, Amanda and Josh thinks he went to the cemetary again, so they go after him, where they find all of the graves of the children! Everybody is dead in the deadhouse, and everybody lived in the same house as they do. The ghost of the town lure new people to the house, because they need new blood every year! But they are sensitive to the light, so Amanda and Josh saves their parents, by pulling down a tree and letting light to the ghosts. But in the end is a little foggy for me, because Amanda watches the Dead House for the last time before they go away, and see the same men who give them the house in the first place! Maybe they didn’t kill the ghosts? Or they couldn’t really get away and they became ghosts too? Who knows?!?
