Reviewed by Neville AnderhaldenAbsolute must read for everyone considering learning about post-colonialism and poltical philosophy. Fanon has a special position to write this book, he was a psychiatrist from Algeria, studying in France. Later in his life he even fought the french in the war for independence. The part on violence is a very interesting read and offers a deep look in to the feelings and world of a colonized person. Fanon was also early on discovering the effects colonialization has on the colonized mind, by creating wrong narratives and pictures of the colonized. He argues well for the use of violence in overcoming colonialism and I think some of his points have been proven right with time. 10/10 read
Reviewed by AnnaGanz fantastisch! Während der ersten Kapitel (und dem sehr langen Vorwort) war ich etwas verwirrt wo das Buch hin will. Die letzten Kapitel waren aber so gut, dass die anfängliche Verwirrung vergeben ist. Fanon teilt extrem aufschlussreiche Gedanken zum Thema Revolution und Nationalismus. Das letzte Kapitel über psychische Erkrankungen fällt etwas aus dem Muster, zeigt aber eindrücklich - von einer mir bisweilen unbekannten Perspektive - die Auswirkung die Krieg und (koloniale) Gewalt auf die menschliche Psyche hat.
