Two years have passed since the events of Gods in Chaos. Alcide Nikopol has regained his sanity, but his dreams are haunted by visions of the mad Horus. The Egyptian deity, now freed from his basaltic prison, is on his way back to Earth aboard the commandeered spacecraft Europa. The Woman Trap, however, is primarily the story of the blue-haired journalist Jill Bioskop, whose reports are transmitted back in time to 1993. Crazed by the murder of her extraterrestrial lover, she takes refuge in memory-blocking drugs ... On assignment in Berlin to cover Europa's landing and the local Eierkrieg, Jill's life balances between reality and hallucination, allowing her to become a deadly pawn. Jill, Nikopol, and Horus finally converge and this adventure climaxes at the foot of the pyramids. Four pages from a 1993 edition of "Liberation" (to which the reports from 2025 are transmitted) are reproduced as an insert to provide background for the events in the novel.
