I loved that this installment switched to a dual POV because getting to read Thayer’s thoughts added so much more depth to the story. Understanding his emotions and struggles made me appreciate his character even more, and it made Selma and Thayer’s relationship feel even stronger. Their journey was such a beautiful continuation of the first book, and I found myself even more attached to both of them by the end. I also have to give a huge shoutout to Caleb. He is such a genuinely kind and selfless character, and I loved getting to know him better in this book. He brought so much heart to the story, and every scene with him was a pleasure to read. Micaela Smeltzer once again delivered an incredibly emotional and beautifully written novel. Her writing style has a way of making you completely invest in her characters, making every heartbreak, hopeful moment, and victory feel real. I’m so happy I discovered this series through Kindle Unlimited, and I’m already looking forward to reading more of her books. I honestly thought Selma and Thayer’s story ended here, but I was excited to find out there’s still a novella left to read, and I can’t wait to dive into that next. I would absolutely recommend this series to anyone who enjoys emotional romances with unforgettable characters, healing journeys, and stories about finding hope after unimaginable pain.
