Reviewed by Kathrin This is hard to decide but I'll go with 3.5 stars. This was an easy read and Leigh Bardugos style of writing is always really smooth. I would be lying if I say I didn't enjoy this book but I also wasn't all about it. The story doesn't really pick up until a little bit past the middle of the book and things happen for the sake of happening (if you know what I mean). There where times I liked Alina and there where times I thought she was a lite bit annoying. There were also a few things that I didn't understand but that's maybe my fault (if the Darkling is the most powerful Grisha why doesn't he just overthrow the king? What is the use of the Apparat?? There are a lot more but I don't want to spoil things by mistake.) But there is one thing Bardugo excels in and this is showing the character inner world in moments of emotional pain and BOY I AM HERE FOR IT!
