Reviewed by burzekslinsteadi don't know what words could be enough to describe how I love this book and how much I will miss it. how devastated I am that I am finished with the windy city series and have to say goodbye to these characters when each and every single one of them has claimed a part of my heart. I love them to the point that I wish I could actually live in these books. be part of kai, miller, isaiah, kenny, monty and reese's family. I cried at so many points. like when kai and miller told monty that she is pregnant or during their wedding. i was a mess. oh my god, I could talk about this for hours if someone let me. every single relationship in this book and how it was highlighted and the fact that it felt like the best epilogue and broke my heart because of it. only because of how full it felt. THIS is why I love reading so much. getting lost in worlds like this one and escaping from reality. miller's and monty's relationship just might be my most favorite one from this book. this father and daughter duo. seeing it all from monty's perspective and hearing him talk about raising his little girl and how proud he is and then seeing her with max. grandpa monty was everything I swear. from the smallest scenes to the biggest ones. like for example when the whole family went to monty's house to ask him about reese and then girboss herself showed up (i will get to how much I love reeese in a second because she deserves her own moment) and monty kicked them all out but when max was leaving, monty was like "I wish you could stay, bud." oh my god. the scenes where isaiah or monty was trying to to cuss and then would look to max and rephrase. kennedy and isaiah still being exactly how i know them. kai and miller, I can't talk about how much I love them without crying and this is monty's and reese's moment but i just want to say, my babies. MONTY'S RELATIONSHIP WITH TYE RHODES BROTHERS. EVERYTHING. E V E R Y T H I N G TO ME. I SWEAR. the scene where he is telling them that he is planning to quit. I was crying. honorable mention to kai pitching in that one scene and how milo, my sweetheart, was fanboying hard before nailing it. and how basically kai is THAT good, that monty had to ask if he held back. KAI RHODES THE MAN THAT YOU ARE. then reese, my baby who I loved so much and wasn't expecting to root so much for. she was perfect. In every way. i loved how she was strong and seeing her struggle with the pressure and still making it. monty, I understand you. the last few chapters honestly had my jaw to the actual floor because one second my heart was breaking and the next I was cheering so hard, I was practically screaming BECAUSE REESE IS THAT WOMAN. THE WOMAN THAT SHE IS. firing those snakes like that? oh that was so satisfying and so hot. I couldn't have predicted it and that made it that much more meaningful because I felt like I was personally experiencing monty's shock too. AND DON'T GET THE STARTED ON THOSE EPILOGUES. the second one especially. oh my god for the millionth time. them winning it all and watching monty celebrate with the rhodes brothers before isaiah screamed for his wife and kai went to help miller and their babies on the field? that proposal and reese celebrating with monty? my heart. I need more. I didn't want this to end. I want to read about all these characters just exist and their future. please. If it isnt clear already, this is a six star read that will stay with me forever. one of my new favorites. also I need to take a separate moment for kai and miller naming their baby girl after emmet😭😭😭 everything.

I know that might not seem like the most glowing of compliments, but I promise you, you being safe is everything to someone like me.” Safe. Maybe if I were young, I wouldn’t love the description. But as a grown man who knows better, safe is the only word I want her to use to describe me. It’s the only way I want her to feel around me. ———————————— My person. Maybe that’s exactly what Reese is. Maybe that’s the word I’ve been searching for. ———————————— “You keep surprising me every day, Reese. How lucky for me that I’ll never finish falling in love with you.”
