Avid horseplayer Shifty Lou Anderson receives a racehorse as a gift, and as delightful as that may seem, he is up nights worrying about how he's going to pay for the animal's care. When his trainer suggests a proposition that could be beneficial, Shifty agrees, but soon finds himself in a contest where the stakes may be life or death.
