Reviewed by JuliaHm, I liked this book, but I started forgetting it even while I was reading. Maybe it is because the vast context of Mexican mythology is unknown to me? Maybe it is because the plot sometimes stretches unnecessarily. (I didn’t need a single chapter on the male antagonists - they didn’t really matter for the story nor where they complex characters - except maybe for Vicube-Kame) Cassiopeia Tun is a cool protagonist, but the story is foreseeable and a bit slow. The roaring 20s are merely a nice background but not very vibrant. So yes: it is a nice change in tone in the Literatur of middle and South America which I have read so far, a lovely little fairytale.
