Reviewed by LensWhat in the Truman-Show-Wes-Anderson-Film was that? I liked it but the fact that not ONE Woman read/stored books secretly and realised the faults of the fireman? Laughable. Not ONE Womans book was mentioned but oh of course please save the Bible?!?! Ridiculous. And this all-men-remembrance-group? (They remind me of Tolkiens Ents with all their slow discussion and slow planning😄) Good luck building a future not-fucked-up-society with books, without women. But sure: save them books, men! While it is outdated on the woman front this book is still highly relevant today! Predictable at times (I immediately knew what he hid behind the ventilation) and one-dimensional characters but much ideological growth by the MC. Usually I do not read sci-fi or dystopian books but this has been recommended so much that I gave it a try.

Reviewed by JennyVery fast-paced but still amazingly detailed. There are no real character descriptions or elaborate settings, but it's somehow palpable. I felt as though the ending happened too quickly, but it was the best part. Quite amazing writing, but you have to make it through the first half.
