Ich hatte natürlich nach den Morisaki Bookshop Büchern entsprechende Erwartungen, aber keine Bedenken, dass sie nicht getroffen werden würden. Dass dieses Buch meine Erwartungen sogar (etwas) übertreffen wird - damit hätte ich nicht gerechnet! Days at the Torunka Café ist ein Buch über Freundschaft und Liebe. Über Beziehungen zu Schulfreunden, Kunden, Nachbarn, flüchtigen Begegnungen, fast vergessenen Bekanntschaften und Fremden. Eric Ozawa schreibt: "it's the center of a community of people for whom it becomes a second home." Und das trifft es für mich auf den Punkt. Jeden Tag, an dem ich dieses Buch in die Hand genommen habe, habe ich mich im Torunka Café zuhause gefühlt. Und dieses Gefühl hatte ich hier sogar noch stärker, als bei Days at the Morisaki Bookshop. Days at the Torunka Café ist definitiv ein Wohlfühlroman, der perfekt für ruhige Nachmittage, Abende, oder wie bei mir, lange Bahnfahrten ist. :)
