This was an emotional read. It tackles many heavy themes. It’s a deeply touching family story, full of struggles that people deal with in their everyday lives. I really love Terry McMillan’s writing style. Btw looking back from today’s perspective, it is clearly a book of the 1990s. It often contains homophobic or misogynistic statements and definitely needs a clear trigger warning.
