Alles in allem: Ein solides, interessantes Buch, was sehr herzzerbrechend ist.

Wuthering Heights is not a love story. It’s a destructive storm. It’s about two souls. They are not gentle. They do not save one another. They burn, and in burning, they scar everyone around them. It‘s not love - it’s obsession, pride, revenge. Bonded by trauma. Some connections do not make us better. They destroy us. Brontë was not writing a polite love story. She was dissecting obsession, identity, and the destructive cost of denying one’s inner truth. Catherine’s death is the logical conclusion of a personality that experiences love not as attachment, but as ontological necessity - as necessary as oxygen. She understood something brutal and timeless: the most dangerous prison is the life you build against your own nature.

liked the story, somehow felt really involved. i liked the way how the plot was portrayed, showing the weird situation in wuthering heights at the start, and continually moving towards that point in time through flashbacks narrated by ellen dean. didn't have a lot of characters, which made it less confusing and allowed you to build a connection with each and every one. a bit weird that there were only a few somewhat likeable characters. but although you didn't really root for anybody, you still wanted to turn the pages as quickly as possible. the 2nd volume not was as good as the first one, as it felt less exciting and more predictable in a way.
