Und echt traurig, wie in den 70ern mit schwangeren unverheirateten Frauen umgegangen wurde 🥺 leider hat es sich für mich stellenweise echt gezogen und habe mich manchmal etwas gelangweilt beim lesen… der witchy Aspekt hat mir gefallen, hätte aber irgendwie auch mehr ausgebaut werden können 🙈

I do like that it teaches about how gils with teen pregnancys got treaded not even 60 years ago in America, but i felt pretty bored.

Hätte gern noch ein bisschen mehr Magie drinnenstecken können und manchmal war es etwas langatmig erzählt. Story war aber super interessant und das Ende sehr rührend.

I’m torn on my stance of the book. This book was not what I thought it would be. Did I enjoy reading it? Not really. Is it impactful of what happened in the 70s to unwed mothers? 100% yes. Was the witch aspect weird? Yes. I feel like the book would have been better without that. It probably would have gotten a higher rating from me if it wasn’t included. Scenes had me gagging at the description of birthing. I’m surprised a man could be so descriptive of pregnancy and birth. I felt like the book could have been shorter and with less repetition of teenage girls smoking cigarettes every day to pass time.
