It does a good job of explaining the way our brain reacts to our emotions, the ways we slide into negative thought patterns and how to counter those. Also, there are lots of prompts and exercises. I rated it relatively low because personally, I didn‘t feel like I did take that much away from it (I was familiar with many concepts already) but I absolutely know who I‘d recommend it to.
