What I learned in this story is that the book is from the horses point of view and the Location is : - Devon, England - France and Belgium during WWI Year: - 1912 (Joey's birth) - 1914-1918 (WWI events) Date: - August 4, 1914 (war declared) - November 11, 1918 (armistice signed) which is ( An armistice is a formal agreement to stop fighting. ) Signed on November 11, 1918, it meant: - Immediate end to WWI hostilities - Fighting stopped at 11am Paris time - Peace treaty (Treaty of Versailles) signed later, June 28, 1919 - November 11th now celebrated as Remembrance Day or Veterans Day. What happened: - Joey, a horse, was raised by Albert - Sold to British cavalry for WWI - Faced battles, injuries, and separation - Albert searched for Joey throughout the war - They reunited briefly before Joey's freedom.
