Rezension von PaulaMeine Meinung zu „Tom Lake“ in Worte zu fassen, fällt mir sehr schwer. In „Tom Lake“ geht es um Entscheidungen und darum, wie sie unseren Lebensweg beeinflussen, um Familie, um Freundschaft, Zusammenhalt und gegenseitiges Verständnis. Ich mochte die melancholische Atmosphäre und die Familienthematik sehr! Ich kann auch nicht sagen, dass ich es nicht mochte, aber ich hatte während des Lesens und auch danach große Schwierigkeiten, das Geschehen zu greifen, eine emotionale Verbindung herzustellen und einfach mitzufühlen. Der Ursprung mag vielleicht darin liegen, dass alle Charaktere in diesem Buch wahnsinnig verständnisvoll, harmoniebedürftig und liebevoll sind, sodass zu erwartende Konflikte und Themen wie Eifersucht oder Neid, die in meinen Augen einen Platz in der Geschichte haben sollten, ausblieben. So wurde es alles in allem leider fast ein wenig langweilig. Ebenfalls wichtig zu erwähnen für den Fall, dass ihr das Buch lesen möchtet: Hier spielt die Pandemie eine kleine Rolle. Mich beschleicht der Gedanke, dass ich zu dem Buch eine andere Meinung haben könnte, wenn ich es in einigen Jahren, wenn ich älter bin und etwas mehr erlebt habe, noch einmal lese. Deswegen betrachte ich diese Bewertung nicht als in Stein gemeißelt und freue mich darauf, in Zukunft vielleicht nochmal zu dem Buch zu greifen.
