Rezension von kathireadsTo Gaze Upon Wicked Gods hat mich positiv überrascht. Ich war direkt von Anfang an hooked und habe bis zum Schluss einen tollen Fantasytrilogieauftakt gelesen. 😍 Ich mochte vorallem den Main Conflict, den unsere Protagonistin auszuhandeln hat. Ich wüsste selbst nicht, wie ich vorgehen würde und was die bessere Entscheidung wäre. Die Love Story entwickelt sich als Slowburn und ich kann vor allem am Ende überhaupt nicht einschätzen, ob der männliche Protagonist nun wirklich die Love Interest ist, weil er schon sehr grausame Entscheidungen trifft. Liebe aber wie offen das Ganze für Band zwei bleibt. 👀 Den Plottwist am Ende hab ich überhaupt nicht kommen sehen und der hat mich echt sprachlos und neugierig auf Band zwei zurückgelassen. Mein einziger Kritikpunkt ist der Mittelteil. Dort gibt es einen großen Zeitsprung der mit einem Zeitraffer in wenigen Kapiteln zusammengefasst wird. Hier geht dann leider interessantes Charakterbuilding verloren. Auch war der Mittelteil ziemlich konfliktarm, sodass ich etwas ungeduldig auf neue Entwicklungen wurde. Trotzdem freue ich mich sehr auf Band zwei. 🫶🏻
