Rezension von EleaWhen Thiago’s wife Vera dies suddenly in an accident, he’s left broken and disoriented. Hoping to escape his grief - and the strange things happening in their apartment - he moves into a remote cabin in the woods. But isolation doesn’t bring peace. Instead, reality begins to warp, and something far darker than grief starts to take hold. TW: grief and loss of a spouse, psychological deterioration, body horror, cosmic/supernatural horror, pet death I didn’t know this was cosmic horror when I picked it up, and normally that’s not my thing, but I’m so glad I gave it a chance. The writing is gorgeous. The entire book is written as if Thiago is speaking to Vera, and that perspective made the horror so much more personal. If you’re not used to cosmic horror, it might take a moment to click. I was sad at times, unsettled, interested how the story would go. If you like horror that messes with your head, this is a beautifully strange and eerie read.
