Rezension von Raphaela Bei Kristy Logans "Things we say in the dark" wird viel versprochen. "Schockierende Sammlung von dunklen Geschichten", Es soll um die Ängste von Frauen gehen, elektrisierend und ehrlich und innovativ. Offenbar drehen sich 99% der Ängste der Frauen darum, dass sie kein tolles Haus finden, dass es mit ihren Kindern nicht so funktioniert, wie sie sich das erträumen, dass sie nicht den richtigen Partner finden und das nicht nur für weiße hetero Frauen, sondern auch im LGBTQ+ Bereich. Keine Ahnung, was mir die Kurzgeschichtensammlung sonst sagen soll. Manches nimmt Anleihen bei Märchen, manches erscheint eher wie eine Meditation über die eigenen Gedanken. Wirklich gut und aussagekräftig finde ich das wenigste davon, vor allem nach den vollmundigen Versprechungen im Vorfeld. Gerade Mal drei Geschichten gefielen mir inhaltlich und davon fand ich eine vom Erzählstil furchtbar. Ich habe das Buch auf Grund der grandiosen Rezensionen gekauft und habe mich wirklich letztlich durchgequält, immer in der Hoffnung, dass die nächste Kurzgeschichte doch wieder besser wird, nachdem die mMn beste Story ziemlich zu Anfang kam. Keine Ahnung, vielleicht bin ich nicht Frau genug, um den angeblichen Horror hinter diesen Geschichten zu verstehen.
