Rezension von Janelle EdwardsI absolutely loved this book and can't say enough good things about it. This is such a beautifully written book about love, family, heartbreak and survival. Told in dual POV from Alina and Alice. Alina's POV is set in Poland in 1942 during the Nazi occupation. Alina is set to marry her best friend Tomasz once he returns from college until the Nazi occupation. Together, they must fight to survive during this difficult time. The other POV is Alina's granddaughter, Alice, set in present time and married with two children. She is not getting much help from her husband with their autistic son, Eddie, when her grandmother suffers a stroke and is left unable to speak. Alina is able to communicate through Eddie's iPad and asks Alice to travel to Poland. Uncertain as to what exactly her grandmother wants her to find, she leaves the kids in her husband's care and heads to Poland. This will definitely be one of my top reads for the year and I highly recommend this book. Once you start, you will not want to put down this captivating book.
