Rezension von kaeskuchnVieles im Buch ging auch nicht über Fantasy, sondern über gesellschaftliche Normen. Zwischendurch wurden auch echt viele gehobene (oder ältere?) englische Wörter verwendet, die ich noch gar nicht kannte vorher. Ein paar historische Fakten und Liebesgeschichten waren auch mit reingeflochten.
Rezension von KalypsoIt was less fantasy then I expected and handled topics like raceism, feminism, abuse and child neglect. I definetly liked it, it was just different then I thought.
Rezension von ResiliI loved just the atmosphere of the book and how beautiful the story is. It took me a little to get fully engaged in the story, but it was fair that the book took its time. The idea for the story is just so beautiful and I did really like the ending. Overall I am just super excited for any other books from Harrow as so far 2/2 have been absolutely amazing experiences
Rezension von Eileen Dierner Ich habe dieses Buch sehr genossen! Vor allem die Protagonistin hat es mir angetan. Sie unterläuft einer spannenden Entwicklung und wächst einem schnell ans Herz. Neben der Geschichte, die wunderbar mystisch und magisch ist und voller atemberaubender Parallelwelten, hat mir der Schreibstil sehr gefallen. Nicht nur schreibt die Autorin sehr poetisch, hin und wieder schreibt sie einem Buchstaben bestimmte Charakteristika zu, die das dazugehörige Wort in seiner Bedeutung verstärkt. Eine wunderbare Weise, die Welt der Schrift zu sehen!<br/><br/>Das einzige, was mich gestört hat, war das Pacing an manchen Stellen. An einigen Tagen habe ich 100 Seiten am Stück gelesen, weil die Geschichte so spannend war, an anderen Tagen habe ich es nicht in die Hand nehmen können, weil sich die Seiten in die Länge gezogen haben und ich mich gelangweilt habe. Das kam aber wie gesagt eher selten vor, sodass man darüber hinwegsehen kann!
