Tropes: fast-paced plot, he-always-loved-her, enemies-to-lovers The story is set in a future, somewhat dystopian world that has been destroyed and forced back into a simple, almost primitive way of living. She is a healer, and he is the son of her enemy. It has a touch of insta-love and moves very quickly—normally not my favorite style, but since I’ve been in a reading slump, it was exactly what I needed. I’d recommend this book to fantasy lovers or even beginners in the genre who are also struggling with a slump. For me, it was the perfect book at the perfect time.
