The Edge of Never
von J. A. Redmerski
Twenty-year-old Camryn has always felt different from everyone else around her - not content to be tied down by life's conventions, she's always known that she wants a life less ordinary. But when tragedy forces her to abandon her plans, she vows never to let her walls down again - and never to fall in love. But one night in the hottest club in town, her world is turned upside down. Desperate to escape, Camryn packs up the bare necessities and boards the next Greyhound bus leaving town, to find the true self she knows is out there. What she finds instead is a young man who is more like her than she knows. Andrew Parrish needs to find himself too, and harbours his own dark secrets ... Zig-zagging across the country together, Camryn finds herself doing things she never imagined, as Andrew shows her what it's like to live by your own rules and what it feels like to give in to her deepest, darkest desires. Before she knows it, he's become the centre of her world. But as the electric love and lust between them intensifies, a dark shadow is looming. Will Andrew's secret push them together - or tear them apart?

I need to stop spending my nights reading stories I don't enjoy. "The edge of never" was just a huge disappointment to me. I had high hopes for it because imo the raw plot had huge potential - it's the execution that lacked... I just didn't enjoy the characters, the writing or the developments towards the end. Moreover this story is just full of cliches! I don't mind cliches if they are written well or if I can understand their necessity for the plot development but in this case it just seemed lame and like everything was added just to draw the plot out. and the characters, sorry, but I just didn't get them. I didn't connect with them at all and they just seemed very superficial to me (and of coooourse she's suddenly such a great singer it's just that nobody ever noticed it in the past 20 years - seriously?) It is so difficult to find well written new adult books and I had such high hopes. I'm sad to say that I spent 5 hours or so reading this... I guess I really need to learn to just stop reading after 100pages. well i guess you can't like every book you read..
