If you like series like criminal minds, The mentalist ect. I would recommend this book series to you. It's called a thriller but I find it mild for one. Maya the girl the first book (this one) is about, reminds me of the mentalist or Dr. House. She is really smart and careful. I really enjoyed the way Dit Hutchison lets Maya tell the story, the throwbacks are really nicely timed. Even though there is no explanation where we are at the storyline, or the line of events. I didn't found it difficult to understand, and see the hole picture. You kinda know what happend, early in the beginning, but you actually don't. So it kept going and getting darker and more conflicted. Till the end it was a nice great. And I'm really glad I got this one recommend by a friend.

Uncomfortably creepy and terrifying. Captivating enough where I wasn't able to put this one down, but unsettling enough where I hesitated to start each new chapter.

<blockquote><b><i>“I think a trauma doesn’t stop just because you’ve been rescued.”</i></b></blockquote> This managed to be short but I think it followed a trauma victim while showing the investigation behind the case. It was both scary and interesting and I really liked the characters. I felt like watching a Criminal Minds episode, but with a deeper focus on the victims. I really liked the whole solution, as well as how, though it's 'over', there is still a lot to overcome - both for the victims and the detectives. I really want to read the next installments in this series!
