The Bell Jar
von Sylvia Plath
The Bell Jar is a classic of American literature. Originally published under the pseudonym "Victoria Lucas" in 1963--only a month before the author's suicide--Sylvia Plath's harrowing autobiographical novel traces a young woman's descent into an emotional breakdown. The brilliant and disturbing story of Esther Greenwood's journey from the glamorous world of magazine publishing in New York to the isolating world of the asylum has become one of the most famous books of the late twentieth century, and still has all its power to shock and move us.

I LOVE the imagery and how much you can see societal normalcy of its time I also love the foreshadowing and repetition that really puts you into the mc’s mind this book is as wonderful as it is disturbing
sollte imho NICHT das erste feministische literarische werk sein, das man einem mann zum lesen empfiehlt..
I was expecting a lot from this book. Took me a long time to finally finish. Unfortunately it was kind of boring ngl
when i said i wanted to feel like a book vharacter i did'nt mean Esther Greenwood
I thought, judging by Tiktok.. This would be about insufferable heroine who wants "down with the system" but no, its about the quiet unraveling of a mind that can no longer pretend.
