Rezension von Carlos R. DiazThis debut novel is about a couple of crazy, creative and captivating cartoonists. Kayla Rae Whitaker penned an accomplished first piece of narrative. Her two heroines are Mel Vaught and Sharon Kisses. They embark on a 20-year professional, personal partnership after graduating from an art school in the east coast. They draw envelope-pushing animation as renegade animators. They smoke, drink, do drugs, fall in and out of love, and produce excellent work. They are never intimate with each other, however. Nevertheless, this is a good story about a fierce friendship, producing art, and forgiving the ones who've hurt you the most. That is all.
