Rezension von JoanneHow am I supposed to rate this? Swimming in the Dark was a story I genuinely appreciated. I felt like I understood the emotional and internal conflicts it sought to express. The tension between personal freedom and societal pressure, desire and fear, love and silence. Some sentences struck me deeply and stayed with me. Still, I sometimes found it hard to fully connect. My mind wasn’t always entirely present and I struggled to emotionally engage with the love between Ludwik and Janusz early on. Maybe I couldn’t open myself up enough to fully feel what the novel was trying to evoke. Much of its depth felt just slightly out of reach for me. Even though I could sense it was there
