Where Volume 3 let our characters problems simmer from start to finish, this one threw them into the pot at the halfway point and cranked up the pressure until the lid flew off! Which isn’t to say that this came a a surprise; This arc is a bursting of Holos unspoken feelings toward the suspended question from the abbey cellar in Tereo. Lawrence has to step up as a man to sooth the wise wolfs fears (: The question as to his change in priorities that gets posed at the start of the next volume goes a long way to showcase his growth. In hindsight, Eve and the old Inkeeper who goes on pilgrimage are the perfect instruments to mirror his cause and need to change. As a character arc, this was amazing for both of them! The epilogue was so beautiful I want to cry. PS: I would have loved if Holo could have met the witty barmaid xD
