Love story set in the wild American west in the 1850s. Scarlett, a white woman, falls for the redoubtable Chief Hawke (a native American), and her feelings are reciprocated. Miscegenation is a big enough problem, but matters become more complicated when a shipwrecked pirate kidnaps the loving couple, and when Scarlett's father imports a mail order bride -- who turns out to be a drunkard and an opium addict.
