Prophet Song is a haunting and urgent dystopian novel by Irish author Paul Lynch, winner of the 2023 Booker Prize. Set in a near-future Republic of Ireland, the story follows Eilish Stack, a mother of four, as she grapples with the sudden collapse of democracy and the rise of a brutal authoritarian regime. When her husband, Larry, a teacher and trade union leader, is arrested during a protest, Eilish finds herself navigating a society where civil liberties are obliterated, and survival becomes a daily struggle.
