This book tries to be a hundred things at once and somehow fails at every single one of them. The plot is all over the place, the characters feel flat and whatever emotional depth it aims for just never lands. At this point, I genuinely don’t know why I keep giving dark romance another chance…
I enjoyed this book was more than I thought I would. The smut was hot, but I loved how there were some important life lessons to be learned from this book. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series.
The idea of a priest struggling with forbidden desire was definitely intriguing and had potential, but the actual storyline didn’t pull me in as much as I hoped. There’s a lot of spice. Like, a lot. If that’s what you’re here for, you’ll be more than satisfied. The scenes are intense and well written. But the male lead felt a bit too conflicted for me. His constant inner struggle started to feel repetitive. The plot was okay, but I expected more emotional depth or just something that would stay with me. It didn’t really deliver that. If you’re into taboo romance with heavy steam, this might be your thing. Personally, I thought it was fine but not amazing.
I doubt it. Abgesehen vom Ende also, würde ich das Buch also tatsächlich weiter empfehlen.
