The beginning was quite strong and I thought it could be a good story. But it quickly became too boring for me. Unfortunately, it only got really good again at the end. Unfortunately, the book ended too quickly. My main problem was that I would have liked to know more about the main couple, both have only dort Parts together. It could have been a story with potential, but the story too often fills the pages with the escapades of the other characters. In addition, the story was about an allegedly older and more wise woman who still longs for a former lover who betrayed her. While another man is waiting for her, who is perfect for her. And she has the impudence to feel you torn between the two admirers. Not to be understood even for the time. The background why Miss Lattimore and her number 1 suitor only find marriage partners around the age of 30 is quite amusing. Overall, the book was entertaining, but nothing more. Maybe the book is just not my genre, even though I liked Bridgerton. Which was probably due to the fact that I only watched the Netflix series that was implemented by Shona Rhimes. This was a fine and short Regency romance. Not particularly my cup of tea, which I could probably have guessed on the cover, but I received the book in a book exchange and wanted to read it before I sent it on.
