Rezension von Ivy FernMilk and Honey is a 2015 collection of poems by Rupi Kaur and it’s my first attempt at willingly reading a poetry book. Now, I’ve read and analyzed poetry before and I do understand that not every poem has to be a layered piece that requires an analysis, BUT. As soon as I opened the book on Kindle and it gave me the time users take to read it, I was taken aback. Kindle says usually it takes less than an hour to finish the book. Infact, it did, I took 45 mostly because after the first part I started reading aloud. I didn’t love this book; nor did I feel like these poems were that well built. Again, this is just my opinion, and while there were some interesting moments, most of the poems just felt like instagram quotes minus the background. I might try poetry again but this one missed the mark.

Rezension von EliszaIt isn't for me and i clearly wasn't the audience this book was meant for. A lot of topics in this book were hard for me to relate or connect to. Mostly the sex parts that are mentioned isn't something I(an asexual person) felt comfortable with or could find a connection. I really liked the last part 'the healing'. Here were a lot more stuf i could connect with. The book is totally deserving of the hype and love it got and still gets. I'm glad there are so many people that loved the book when they read it. But for me personally i prefer homebody from rupi kaur books.
