Rezension von Anna Amalia~Endlich wieder ein Buch von Riley Sager, dass mich richtig überzeugen konnte😍 Der Schreibstil und das Setting in dieser kleinen Sackgasse am Waldrand haben für die perfekte Thriller-Atmosphäre gesorgt! Durch die kurzen Kapitel und Rückblenden, die immer wieder eingebaut wurden, war es mega spannend und ich konnte manchmal kaum aufhören zu lesen! Hier und da fand ich es auch etwas gruselig, vor allem spät abends, wenn es dunkel war🤭 Die Plot Twists haben mich alle überrascht und alles in allem ist es wirklich ein toller Thriller, den ich jedem empfehlen kann🤗~ Follow me for more bookish content on Instagram: @anna_amalia_reads 🫶🏼

Rezension von BrendaMehr 3,5 Sterne. Im Sommer 1994, hat der 10 Jährige Ethan seine wöchentliche Zelt-Übernachtung mit seinem besten Freund Billy im Garten seiner Eltern. Als er am nächsten Morgen aufwacht findet er ein großes, mit einem Messer geschnittenes, Loch in der Zeltwand und von Billy fehlt jede Spur. Auch 30 Jahre später ist Billy wie vom Erdboden verschluckt. Als Ethan in seine alte Nachbarschaft zurückkehrt, um sich um das Haus seiner Eltern zu kümmern, passieren seltsame Dinge. Haben diese Vorkommnisse etwas mit Billys Verschwinden zu tun? 'Middle of the Night' ist nun mein zweites oder drittes Riley Sager Buch und ich muss sagen, mein Liebstes bisher. Am Anfang war ich mir nicht sicher, in welche Richtung sich das Buch entwickeln wird. Letztendlich bin ich froh, dass es anders kam, als erwartet. Ich muss zugeben, dass mir bei Thrillern nicht ganz so wichtig ist, wie sympathisch mir die Charaktere sind. Hier aber mochte ich die meisten Charaktere und konnte mich in sie hineinversetzen. Das Buch ließ sich flüssig und schnell lesen und ehe man sich versahy hatte man 100 Seiten gelesen. Die Auflösung am Ende habe ich tatsächlich auch nicht so kommen sehen, dennoch hat mir nicht gefallen, dass auf den letzten Seiten jeder in Verdacht war und die Begründungen teilweise zu sehr an den Haaren herbeigezogen, um den Leser in die Irre zu führen.
