While I read this one I had to read like 3 more, because the uneasy it caused me… I mean, there are no trigger warnings or anything like, but I came to the conclusion that, at least right now - last 3 years, it is internally *SO* fucking difficult to face the pages when I read injustices against women, misogyny on the justice system, the heavy lift on mothers. It is like I need to consume something *sweeter*, hotter, lighter, funnier to keep going. Like watching an episode of friends to avoid nightmares after a suspense movie - I’m pretty sure it can’t just be me. I like Margot, I like her a lot, which is interesting because I see no common characteristics between us and normally we create connection with similars. Unconscious bias and all that. This story is incredibly different, very contemporary, full of real imperfect people, true and raw relationships, thoughts and instinctive actions. She sees herself in a difficult position (who was never there?) and in a major financial crises (hellooo, 99% of the population?!?). Margot is creative, naive, smart, caring (sometimes or many times too much for my Aries taste). The way I couldn’t tell for the life of me what was going to happen and how the book was gonna end took my peace for days. Such a fun, dramatic and real story. I can only recommend it!
3.5 stars. It took me quite a while to really get into the storyline and wanting to continue to read the book. But I loved the middle part of the book. I even cried a little. The book was described as a funny one - I wouldn't agree with that. I would've wished for more depth in the whole "Only Fans being good or bad" discussion and idk how I feel about the wrestling stories. The end was kinda disappointing. But all in all it's a good book.
4.5⭐️ When I started Margot Got Money Trouble, I didn’t expect it to go in the direction it did—I thought it would be something completely different. But I absolutely loved that it wasn’t what I anticipated! The plot involving OnlyFans and TikTok was incredible. Normally, I’m not a fan of these elements in books, but here they were refreshingly funny and entertaining. The entire book was packed with humor, following the story of an 18-year-old (turning 19) who gets pregnant by her professor and struggles with money. I don’t want to spoil anything, but this book is so good and definitely worth the read!
Margo my love, what a pleasure it was to get to know you. I had zero expectations for this, as I only read bad reviews. But honestly this book was such a vibe. It was so nice to see Margo's character development and to feel what she feels through the pages
